National Historic Site #76000529

From it’s humble roots as a simple farmhouse to its current status as a recognized member of the National Historic Site Register, the story of the Ashworth-Remillard House and its impact on the region is being told through the tireless work of community members, researchers and volunteers.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Ashworth-Remillard House and National Historic Site, is an essential part of Bay Area history. As one of San Jose’s oldest surviving homes, it is only natural that technology plays a role in the restoration and preservation process. With the support of FARO Technologies, volunteers have used state of the art laser scanning technology to create a 3D model of the home. The 3D model will be used to assess damage, design upgrades, plan and monitor repairs. Future plans for the 3D data include online 3D exhibits, virtual and augmented reality tours.
